Get Involved

Welcome to the Support Team Zone!

This is where you can find everything you need to know about participating in Club activities.

The day-to-day running of Sandy Starlets Netball Club can only happen with the input of parent and family volunteers.  We would love you to join in as a Coach or Team Manager or bring your areas of expertise to our Committee. You will see there are a myriad of ways that you can be involved.

Become a Coach

Do you…

  • want to make a real and positive difference to young netball players?
  • enjoy netball and want to give back to the community and our club?
  • want to support your son or daughter with their netball?
  • want to develop your own skills and get some coaching qualifications?
  • or perhaps you used to play netball or have watched it a lot?

Then coaching sounds like it could be for you!  It also brings the added benefit of being extremely rewarding.

Sandy Starlets would love more coaches and we principally rely on parent volunteers.  The primary job for our coaches is to develop our players in all facets of the game and encourage their love for the sport.  We are not all about winning; we are about netball players playing netball with a smile on their faces, win or lose.

Our coaches come from lots of different backgrounds – grandparents, parents, sisters/brothers, past players, unit students etc.

If you are new to coaching, we would pair you up with an experienced coach and give you training throughout the season. If you are interested, please contact the Coaching Co-ordinator.

Become a Team Manager

Being a Team Manager is a great way to get involved with your child’s netball team and support the Club.

Each team needs a manager who will take responsibility for organising duty rosters for scoring their team’s matches on a Saturday and who will also support the coach at training and on game day.

All Team Managers are supported by the Sandy Starlets Team Manager Co-ordinator, your team coach and the other parents in your team.  When you are a Team Manager you have minimal organisational duties whilst enjoying the benefits of getting to know the children in your child’s team and their parents, learning more about the sport of netball and becoming involved in a dynamic and inclusive club like Sandy Starlets.
